Upanayanam

Upanayana is a version of the sacred thread ceremony that comprises various rituals . The sacred thread across the child’s left shoulder consists of three strands signifying Brahmma, vishnu, and shiva. During Upanayana the boy recites “Gayathri Mantra” that protects him from all evils.
