Upanayanam

Upanayana is a version of the sacred thread ceremony that comprises various rituals . The sacred thread across the child's left shoulder consists of three strands signifying Brahmma, vishnu, and shiva. During Upanayana the boy recites “Gayathri Mantra” that protects him from all evils.

Sashtiapthapoorthi

The sixtieth birthday is considered significant. Siblings do this puja for the parents on their 60th birthday towards their long life and health.
